The Bushnell SMRS 1-6.5x24mm is a short/mid-range tactical riflescope
featuring the Bushnell BRT-2 Tactical Reticle in the First Focal Plane. It
performs like a red dot at low power and expands into mil-hash reticle as you
move through the magnification range. The vertical stadia has mil marks at 1, 4,
5, and 7 for windage holds and a total of 10 mils on the vertical stadia for
holdover. The scope also features 11 illumination settings including 2 night
vision settings.
The BTR-2 reticle in first focal plane is an excellent choice for shooters
needing maximum flexibillity in a riflescope. The reticle in the first focal
plane combines an illuminated red dot with a mil hash platform. The versatility
of this reticle can be seen as the center horseshoe shrinks down to a single
illuminated aiming point on the lowest power and then increases to 10 mils of
holdover throughout the higher magnification settings making this scope
effective in CQB scenarios or out to mid range targets. Additionally the
horizontal stadia can be used for windage holds or to range 10" targets out to
800 meters.

About VFZ™ Mounts:
VFZ™ is a new theory in the concept of clamping accessories to MIL-STD-1913
rails. Instead of using a horizontal cross-bolt, the VFZ™ uses a vertical bolt
that draws up a clamping foot against the lower angle of the rail, seating the
mount similarly to a fully-closed LaRue lever. Once installed on the firearm,
index marks allow the user to remove the mount, then reattach to the same
tension, providing unprecedented return to zero for a non-QD-levered mount. The
unique vertical alignment of the clamp allows components that are structurally
stronger than traditional cross-bolt designs.
Why should I select VFZ™ Mounts instead of a QD Lever Mount?:
If you intend to leave an optic or accessory on a rail for the life of the
rifle, the VFZ™ option is for you. The VFZ™ is intended as a longer-term,
semi-permanent mounting alternative to our well-known Speed Levers. While both
mounts will allow the user to remove the mount from the weapon, reinstall it in
the same position, and return to zero, the VFZ™ mount is intended for users that
will not need to constantly remove and install their mounts (especially in the
field).
What a great piece of kit!
The clarity of the scope rivals that of the finest and most expensive scopes I own.
I have only shot the scope out to 200 yards so far but I am very impressed.
The mount is very slick!!!
I am glad I spent the money for this over a less expensive scope.
FOR THE PRICE, IT HAS THE GREATEST RANGE OF A AR TYPE SCOPE (1X TO 6.5X). THE 1X TO 8X COST IN THE $4000 RANGE. MOST OR EITHER 1X-4X OR 1.5X TO 6X. THE BTR-2 RETICLE IS ALL IN MRADS SO HOLDOVER SHOTS CAN BE MADE OUT TO ANYTHING REQUIRING 10 MRAD HOLDOVERS. THE RETICLE ILLUMINATES IN 9 DAYTIME AND 2 NIGHTVISION SETS. THE PART I LIKED MOST ABOUT THE ILLUMINATION IS FOR DAYTIME SHOOTING AT 1X. SENSE IT IS A FIRST FOCAL RETICLE THE RED CIRCLE, AS YOU SEE ABOVE, BECOMES VERY SMALL. TURN ON THE ILLUMINATION, NOW YOU ARE SHOOTING OFF A BRIGHT RED DOT LIKE A HOLOGRAPHIC SIGHT. VERY EASY TO SEE. ALSO THE SCOPE IS SHORTER THAN MOST OF THE 1X TO 4-6X SCOPES. SO NOW WITH THE TYPICAL RAIL SPACE ON A AR-15 PLATFORM, THERE IS PLENTY OF SPACE FOR A PVS-27 ON THE OBJECT END OF THE SCOPE. AND WITH THE NIGHTVISION SETTINGS YOU CAN USE A PVS-14 ON THE OCULAR END OF THE SCOPE AS WELL.
