LaRue Tactical A-PEG™
Initially designed with the precision shooter in mind, the folks at LaRue
Tactical queried trusted individuals in the precision shooting community what
they would prefer in a grip. The result is the LaRue A-PEG™. The project grew
into an accessory that featured ambidextrous geometry that can be used by all
shooters, enchaining control of AR15-type weapons. The A-PEG™ is available in
two sizes; Regular (for 5.56 receivers) and Extended (for 7.62 receivers). The
Extended version fills the “gap” in AR10-platform receivers.
Inspired by the human hand, the unique “flats” on the front and back fall more
naturally onto the geometry of the hand’s structure. The flat front also
provides indexing to help level and square the firearm to the target. A
sculptured palm swell on either side fits nicely into the hollows of the palm. A
gentle taper helps seat the hand towards the firearm, and helps to keep the hand
from sliding. The generous texture added to the sides gives just the right
amount of traction in slippery conditions.
Having an A2 footprint, the A-PEG™ will attach to almost any firearm that has an
AR15-type grip interface. Comes complete with mounting hardware.

By far the BEST grip i have ever used, and i have owned them all. Its feels like it was custom molded for my hand. The rough surface is perfect too. You always know that you will be getting quality if its from Larue Tactical. Thanks Larue!
I purchased this grip based on the feedback from these other Reviews, and I agree the Quality of this product is second to NONE. It dropped in without a Hint of undo effort.
However despite what a few have said, it is NOT meant for large hands. I would say my hands are just "average" large (not freakish large), and the grip just doesn't fit right, I want it to, I Really do, it's exactly what I've been looking for, it's quite a bit smaller then I thought it would be, and isn't comfortable at all. I Hate to say it. but the grips coming off without a round downrange.
I give this grip a high rating though because it's VERY high quality, and it's clear it would be a phenomenal grip for Med hands.
Regards,
Z.
(Looking forward to more sizing options hint hint)
Great grip! Fits my average size hand perfectly. I feel like it gives me superb weapon control while placing my trigger finger right where it needs to be. The only issue I had was with the fit. I had to modify the inside of the grip I order for it to seat well on my Daniel Defense lower. That said, the tedious grinding/sanding to reshape the inside of the grip was certainly worth it!
Excellent product, purchased after handling/considering most other popular brands and was concerned about not having had an opportunity to feel this one prior to purchase. Took a chance based on the positive feedback and well thought out design, ultimately could not be more pleased. All the comments are right on, looks, feel, comfort and performance in a very high quality product.
Great feeling grip! Very comfortable in my hand. The only disappointment was, I put the grip on my HBar colt match. I had to do quite a bit of modification to the inside of the grip as well as the heal portion to make it fit properly.
I just received my grip yesterday and immediately istalled it on my AR 6.8 SPC. I purcased the rough grip. I can say that I agree with previous reviews that say this is the best grip on the market. do not have large hands and it places the trigger finger on the trigger at the center of the first digit. Perfect placement. I plan on going to the range tomorrow, snow or shine to get a better feel of the grip during fire. If you decide to buy this grip you will not be sorry. Great product from LaRue.
Great grip! I have about every grip on the market, some I love, some I hate, and some are just so-so. The A-PEG, is one I love! Works very well with my SPR clone and my large hands. Texture is just rough enough to maintain a proper grip without tearing up your hands when used all day. Only complaiant is the FDE color is a little light, it doesn't match my VLTOR or Magpul plastic parts.
This grip is a game changer. I had a Magpul MIAD and didn't want to change grips if the difference wasnt going to be worth it but it was. What makes it a justified investment is that it is indeed a superior improvement over the BCMs and Magpuls. If a sniper rifle grip and assault grip had sex, the babies would be the LaRue APEG. I also like how it puts the length of pull rearward so instead of the crease in your finger hitting the trigger, it is the pad. So you no longer have to force the pad of your finger on the trigger, everything feels way more natural.
This grip rocks. I have tried the Ergo, BCM, Magpul, and others. This is my favorite. The rough stippling feels great in your hand. I have fairly small hands and this grip has a perfect feel. I will be placing these on all my ARs now.
Ordered both AR-10 and AR-15 grips. The fit and finish is excellent and like others say the rough texture is not harsh on your hands and offer a solid grip. I will be buying more for future builds!
Best grip on the market by far. I have used every grip on the planet, and this is THE ONE I have now put on all of my rifles. The version designed for the AR10 based rifles fits perfect with no filler peice, (which IMHO had always looked like a lame after thought). I had an ergo on my 7.62 OBR and this has now replaced it. I purchased the rough texture and it is perfect. I also have a "smooth" version that my Predatar shipped with and it is pretty grippy as well. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect, with nice finished edges and an amazing fit. The palm swell does an amazing job for both large and small hands. The design looks as if storage could be utilized by adding a type of plug or cap on the bottom in the future. I personally think it is perfect the way it stands. Thanks Larue for another well designed, and amazingly constructed piece of equipment for my rifles.
Hands down the best grip on the market, decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did! You will not be disappointed, replacing all my Miads with this grip.
LT750-SC, cool, I think the SC stands for super-comfortable. I got this grip today, after waiting for moths to come out, and it is outstanding; if it was not evident on the box I would think this was a Magpul item, very excellent quality; great fit and finish; in fact the box is the same color as a a Magpul box but the grip is a completely different animal; the only thing I can compare it to is a Miad grip with the large back strap on but it is a bit shorter and wider at the center, and I do like it more than the Miad, it really feels like a competition grip, there is no storage core but it could be easily provided in the future to hold a couple of 123A batteries, for all I know LT is already thinking about it.
I could not agree more with the other reviewers here, the ergonomics are excellent, even used with the left hand, it feels the same either way; it just feels right in the hand, it is perfect. A plus 1 to LT for including a hex head screw with the grip, it makes installation super easy, and as I said before, these folks really think about everything. I got the "rough" version, and I don't think is that rough; it is rougher than a Miad grip but you soon forget about it after your hand seems to melt with the grip; I think the texture will be really helpful for traction with wet, sweaty or bloody hands (hopefully not your own blood), and very secure wearing gloves. If your hands are so delicate that you can't handle the roughness, maybe you should get out more and work with your hands instead of with the computer, or maybe just order the smooth one and wear gloves, and get a manicure before you go out and take some bad guys out, I'm just saying; but seriously, this is a very well thought out grip and I think it reflects the usual LT excellence in manufacturing, I could not be happier with it. The other reviewer said it best: LT did a hell of a job, well done; and thank you very much for the affordable price, this quality and design execution at this price is a bargain.
Gotta give ML and the folks at LT credit where it is due. Yet another fine solution for the AR platforms. Ordered several for customers and decided, after seeing and handling them, to order one for my own 7.62 OBR and also for my 5.56 OBR. After shooting both rifles I was impressed with these grips. It's worth mentioning I have tried damn near every variety of after market grip for the AR that has come out over the last 15+ years. There are many that suck and actually do nothing to increase your grip, nor comfort.
This grip is the real deal and does what LT states, improves ergonomic comfort, increases grip with their textured surface on the sides only. The smooth front and rear makes a huge difference in how the rifle handles, yet the sides lock in your grip, with or without gloves.
I got the rough grip for my 7.62 and the smooth (slightly less rough, it ain't smooth...) for my 5.56.
Before any of ya'll goober smoocher's whine about how harsh the texture may be for your thin skinned palms and feel either grip is too harsh for you, sack up and just hit the grip texture with some 200 or 400 grit sand paper and that'll fix it.
ML and LT folks, ya'll did a hell of a job on this grip, nice work.
Recieved it today 25 April 12 & put it on, fits & feels great, finally a swell for a lefty (or a righty). I got the rough in black for a AR10 & put it on my PredatAR. Will have to go out this evening & see if I can locate a jack or a yote. Thanks Mark & all at LaRue.
I have somewhat large hands, so the palm swells help the APEG feel more natural in my hand than a Magpul MOE or MIAD (plus I really don't need the internal storage feature of the MIAD, to be honest). The rough-textured version is not going to tear your bare palm to shreds, but it will stay put where you need it. Installed quickly and easily on my LaRue lower, no need for filing or Dremeling. Just to be clear, the APEG is not an overmolded soft grip. The texture is similar to stippling, but without the risk of ruining your grip with a soldering iron. I would definitely recommend this grip to anyone with large hands. I will be purchasing another for my second rifle build.
