LaRue Covert Rifle Case, MkII
We took the Covert Case to a whole new level.

Based on feedback from our customers, we decided to upgrade the old covert case with a variety of enhancements. We’ve made them an inch and a half wider, and an inch deeper. These dimensions may sound small, but they provide the needed room to easily add longer barrel-length uppers (like 18”) and also position uppers vertically (to save room). We replaced the mesh pockets with a 10” x 7” Velcro loop panel and a 9” x 7” pocket. The loop panel provides a base for a variety of hook-backed accessories. The pocket has a YKK zipper and 5 rows of MOLLE Web. The moveable barriers now have hinge-points for easy positioning and customization. Velcro on the hinge-points allow users to branch off additional smaller barriers in order to make compartments. Made in Texas, USA

Overall construction is of abrasion-resistant Cordura nylon, the case has rigid, dense, padded walls protect your valuable contents, without taking up space. Generous use of hook and loop surfaces allow as many configurations as your imagination will allow.

Dimensions:
Exterior 27.5” x 11” x 4.5” (the old version was 26" x 12" x 3.5")

Accessories:

The LaRue Covert Rifle Case 760-103 is great. When I first received it I was sure that it was too small to hold an 18" barreled upper. Once I figured out how to better arrange the inside partitions and hold downs, I found that I could stow either a 16" or 18" barreled upper and lower without changing the configuration of the dividers and hold downs. I think that whoever designed the case is brilliant. I find it easy to sling over my back like a messenger bag.

Superb bag for my purpose. It is the little things that really make this bag - the flexability of the included inserts, the size of the mag pouch (large enough to comfortably house a benchrest height Harris bipod with qd attach), the quality of the velcro. I purchased in blue and the color was spot on with the sample. The color almost makes it look like a piece of EMS gear or a squared gym bag. The pocket in the upper right is quite large; large enough to easily house a full-size pistol (Sig P226) without bulging or printing through to the exterior. This case is a laconic masterpiece - there is no wasted space or bulk; anything unnecessary for your particular setup can simply be removed. Top notch customer service; very helpful and product arrived on my doorstep within just a few days. Great piece of gear; I highly recommend to anyone in the market for a takedown case.

Very nice case, got mine in navy (almost dark blue). Best thing is it does not look like a traditional rifle case at all. Fits a 16" perfectly (broken down). has three velcro tie downs, long separator, two short separators and an ammo pouch. also comes with dillo dust and a bunch of other swag. only complaint is would like to get more velcro tie downs. Other than that, I recommend this case. This is a must buy for covert AR owners.

I have been waiting a while for this case and could not wait when I finally got the shipping notice. Upon opening the package I was kinda disappointed. I ordered the color Charcoal which looks more like a blueish maybea hint of gray then anything charcoal. ( The MKll charcoal looks like the color of the Philadelphia Eagles jerseys) and also it has black accents which again is not how it is pictured in the website. Why this matters because its what I paid for and not what I got. Now to the bag itself, first impressions are its small I have a 16 DD and it was hard to fit the upper with out hitting the sides of the bag, but I made it all fit, I account that to me as I have yet to find a system that works for me. The Bag is well constructed, the velcro is top notch and I know I will grow to love this bag. I would recommend it, just make sure you call to talk about the color and maybe get and updated color list on the site. I am going to keep the bag even know I am not too fond of the color, I do not want to wait another 4 months for another color. It is supposed to be a covert bag so I guess the color will help, because it def does not look tactical. Id give it a 5 star but LARUE UPDATE THE COLOR ON YOUR WEBSITE PLEASE!!!!

I just completed my AR and was looking for a quality bag. I had seen the LaRue bag before but was a bit skeptical on purchasing it. After reading some reviews I decided to jump and snag me one. All I can say is WOW! The bag is of phenomenal quality and I have zero regrets in purchasing it. The Velcro is definitely going to last a while and there is plenty of room. After slapping my AR inside there was still room for a full size pistol and some mags for that as well. My only complaint, and it is just a personal preference was the backorder. Mine took about a month to arrive but I didn't worry as LaRue definitely delivered. If you are looking to purchase this bag, get the extra mag pouches. You will need them! I will be a LaRue customer for LIFE.

I bought the old style Covert Case and love it. My only complaint is that the velcro on the inserts ripped off after a few years. Looking at the new style of inserts it seems they fixed that problem. I have had this case in many places and never once did anyone realize there was an AR-15 inside. I go to the range with an AR that costs more then I would like to say, but it never fails, people will comment on the case before the ar everytime.

This case is priceless. There are plenty who will rave about the features and how everything has a place, and I agree. The case is very well put together. The part most won't realize (fortunately) is that this case protects your LaRue rifle from the oldest of hazards, H2O. I had my LaRue OBR stashed in this case under the bed. When the basement flooded, the case was found in two inches of water. I thought my prized possession had taken a swim. We opened the case only to be amazed that it was completely dry inside. Thank you LaRue for building your covert case as well as you build your rifles.

Excellent quality and customer service! This bag performs just as advertised and holds my broken down AR and accessories perfectly - my blue one now it just looks like a tennis racquet, music instrument or pool stick case. If I were to suggest anything, I would increase the size of the loop area in the lid by 2" horizontally and move your logo up. Also, either make the small dividers capable of being reversed (add hook-loop on both sides of the ends) or offer small panels with hook-loop reversed to increase the options for laying out the interior. Best concealable bag on the market!

This case is without a doubt the very best rifle case I didn't buy. Why? Because, having replaced the muzzle brakes on the KSG shotgun and Tavor FDI16 that had intended for the case, they became too long by an inch! In the "foliage" color, which is what I ordered, the case looks outstanding without being at all conspicuous. The construction is simply peerless. I thought long and hard about keeping the case to use for some other reason, but could not come up with a economically justifiable excuse. So, back it went to LaRue (who, by the way, was very gracious about the whole thing). I replaced it with a black LaRue Tactical Improved Discreet Soft Case. An outstanding case in its own right; just not as good looking as the foliage-color Covert case. One of these days I'll figure out an justification for the Covert case, or perhaps Larue will make it longer, or offer a foliage-color Discreet case. PS. The steak powder that LaRue includes with the order is, in and of itself, reason to buy the case. P.S. The steak powder that LaRue includes with the order is fabulous, and reason in and of itself to buy the case.

I just received my LaRue Covert Rifle Case MkII and I am blown away with the quality. Mine is colored Navy which I preferred to the camo based colors since the whole point is being discrete. I can confidently say I have found a new brand to be a fan of. Before buying I researched all my options extensively and the only point of competition for other similarly styled bags is price; that's by design. "Made in America" isn't just a tag you stick on your product even though as consumers that's all we really see. Instead it means the people crafting this product are Americans being paid an American wage. Obviously that is a hefty premium on what Chinese wages are, but consider that when you buy a LaRue bag you are directly investing back into our American economy. For the discerning shooter who demands the best and prefers to invest money here at home there is no equal bag to the Covert MkII at this time - believe me, I've looked. It is simply excellent and I'm sure you will enjoy your purchase and the freebies that LaRue throws in to make you smile. Thanks for the no compromise and 100% satisfaction approach LaRue. Outstanding case that will hold up to much abuse. Velcro interfaces are very sturdy. Overall construction is very well done and the customization is endless. Definitely worth the investment whether or not "discretion" is your goal. It is an organized, compact, secure, and convenient way to take your rifle to the range as long as you don't mind breaking it down each time (which should be fun anyway). Plenty of accessories too. Highly recommended. FYI: I am carrying a Sig 551A1 rifle along with 3x 30rd and 5x 20rd mags, TRS25 red dot, Surefire G2 torch, torch mount, and sling. Still plenty of space left over especially with the interior MOLLE webbing. Hope that helps.

What can I say about the MKII that hasn't already been said? Other than the 3+ month backorder on my preferred color (Ranger Green), I am more than satisfied! Fit and finish is A+ and the zippers are strong. Although I worry about the handles and how they are stitched on the sides. Time will tell, but I think it should have had a diagonal stitching versus the horizontal. Reason being, there is a lot of tension on the outer sides of the strap reinforcement seam when picked up from the handles even with just a 16'' carbine inside. Over prolonged use this may tear in to the outer layer. (Only speaking from experience with other bags/cases of similar quality!) I recommend two things. 1) Carry the case exclusively by the shoulder strap while simultaneously using the handle to further secure the case while in carry to mitigate excess wear. 2) It took me several attempts to fit everything inside that I felt was necessary. I would recommend getting a few extra modular parts for the inside if you plan on compartmentalizing. I plan on picking up several more of the accessory hinges to further reinforce all of the modular boarders to the outer walls of the case and a triple mag pouch to top it off. The Dillo Dust, Beverage Entry Tool and extra swag are very appreciated as well! Thanks again Larue. I'll be back! -N

When I first ordered this I case I was told that Foliage was on backorder and that I could pretty much choose any other color. I sucked it up and waited about four weeks until I got a shipping message from UPS. Now I order a fair amount of things, so it would have been nice to have gotten a message from Larue indicating they had actually shipped my package so I didn't have to guess. Though I can get over it. My first impression is that for a soft case, this one is pretty solid. It seems to hold its shape and has thick walls. It comes with some basic accessories that are nice, however you may want to invest in a few other add-ons (I also purchased the 3-pack mag holder and an extra tie down. After I put my upper with my Aimpoint Comp M4 and lower into the case it did take up a lot of real estate. I was able to fit about 3, 30rd Magpul mags in without issue. Putting a full-sized Glock 22 in there as well is when I started having issues. I originally purchased this case as a permanent storage solution for my rifle, however I ended up buying a Pelican case while I was waiting for this one on backorder. I think this will make a good discreet range bag but in hindsight it wouldn't have been good for storage. Price wise verus similar products I think is reasonable though on the high end. Similar cases through Voodoo Tactical run about sixty dollars cheaper, but they can't be customized in the sense this one can. And again you are also paying for the Larue name. Bottom line, I'm happy. It's worth the money. I'd buy it again.

When I needed to take my AR into Ranier Arms for some work instantly I had a few guys peering over my shoulder to see what was inside and they wanted to look at the case. Although I am a fan of hard cases I love this one. It's a bit tight with both uppers that I keep in it but it has plenty of room if you are running just one. I would reccommend this to anyone that wants a soft case and a low profile. The seasonings that came with it were also good. And thank you for the copies of the Constitution, I have already handed a few of those out. Great shipping times, outstanding quality, and no complaints.

I received my covert case five months ago and couldn't be happier with my purchase. I use it daily to carry my broken-down personal defense carbine (BCM 14.5" middy with attached Surefire x300) to and from my truck, where it stays while I'm at work or running errands. The bag securely holds the carbine and two mags with room to spare. It is very well made and will serve me for years to come. It is truly discteet...I don't get weird looks from others when they see it because it looks like a briefcase, not like a traditional soft gun case. I use Raven Concealment's TopStop cover to prevent lube and/or carbon fouling from the upper from getting the inside of the bag messy (another highly recommended product). Larue is a great company and are an absolute pleasure to do business with. Money well spent (and kept in America no less!!!)

I ordered this bag in foliage. The next day I received an email from Larue telling me the item was out of stock and it had a 4-5 week lead time. But, they had it on their site - for sale. Odd. They had two color options available, so I took one of those. After some communication with Larue, they knocked $5 off of the "flat rate" $22.95 UPS shipping cost. So I got hosed on my product, and I still paid the shipping. If I had more time to pay attention to stuff like this, I would have canceled the order. It's a nice bag, but for $139.95 plus shipping, and having to pick a different color than you wanted - even though the website said they had it - and the poor customer service... I can't give it more than 3 stars.

Ordered mine on 4/21/14 and UPS dropped it off 4/22/14...obviously helps that I live in Leander. I called and spoke with a rep on Monday to make sure that the items on my order were in stock, as soon as that was confirmed I made the purchase. This Covert MkII case is great, build quality is fantastic, and there is plenty of room for my taken down 16" M6A2 with hider installed, 4 Mags, an RCO ACOG on an LT100, and some other tools. I went for the Blue colored model...after all, the Drabs, Coyotes, and such are tactical....but not so covert, at least in my opinion. It was either bright red or blue for me....and I like blue. Showed it to the wife last night and she was so proud that "I was going to start playing racquetball again" I showed here what was inside and even she thought the covert style of the case was a great idea. Anyway, this is my first order from the fine folks at LaRue Tactical, and because of the great experience, it will not be the last. By the way....really appreciate the Dust, T.B.E.T, stickers, and the mini Constitutions(my daughter went straight to the 2nd amendment and read it back to me!!! AWESOME!! Thanks Ya'll John in Leander

All of the items fit comfortably inside. the case makes transporting all of my gear very easy. Whether its to the range or to the hunt, the MKII case does the job of keeping my gear secure while being transported. This is a rugged, top-quality US made case. Worth every penny in my honest opinion.

Hi Larue Tactical- I just received my Mark II discreet case and to say the least I am very, very pleased with the quality and rugged construction! Thank you for this fantastic product! The padding is very dense but not too bulky, and the velcro is very strong. Velcro lines the interior. The arrangements possible for the interior are a matter of your imagination and you can add baffles and loops at a later time. Simple outside appearance helps keep this case on the down low.

Outstanding case. Bought this for my Sig556 Classic SWAT. It actually fits the rifle with just the stock folded, no need to break the whole things down. Plenty of extra space for attachments and stuff. Setting up the configuration inside is quite the puzzle without ordering any extra sections (i wish i had ordered 2 more medium sized pieces and 2 more tie downs at time of purchase). Once its set up though, everything inside is quite sturdy and there is plenty of room for extras. I just replace the arm strap with my MS3 sling so that doesnt take up any additional space. Wish it used metal D rings and fixtures instead of plastic for the strap. Its a small case, sure, but Ive got it loaded down quite a bit. I suspect those plastic D rings will be the thing to break when im using this. The zippers and stitching are all high quality though. Did 550 cord pulls on those and theyre great.

Great Gun Bag!!!!! I've been looking for a discrete AR bag for months. They were all too cheaply made or too expensive. At most of $200 with shipping, i still consider this bag expensive, but you get what you pay for on this one. I can't say enough good things about it. Was able to put AR, bi-pod, sling, optic and 6 (20 round) magazines. Lots of options with this bag. Within minutes of ordering, i did get an email from customer service that the color I requested would be a few weeks. I decided to go with a different color and the new bag arrive 2 days later. Very good customer service and fast shipping! Mike aka Cactus Red

I've purchased 2 of the Mk II Covert cases. The quality and versatility of the first one lead to the purchase of the second. The most surprising aspect of this case is it's capacity. The first case was purchased to hold a broken-down 16" MSR and accessories. When its not in use on a trip, it functions as a go-bag for my MSR, capable of holding the following: broken-down 16" MSR, 12 5.56 mags of various capacities holding a total of 480 rounds, a sling, holographic optics and magnifier, a holstered 1911 on the MOLLE webbing with 5 spare magazines in the zippered pouch, small binoculars with case, an AR-oriented multitool, cleaning kit, and 2 types of mag loaders. The second case contains a ready to go 7" AR pistol with Sig stabilizing brace, sling, holographic optics, and a Surefire Fury in a LaRue LT606 mount, along with six 5.56 30 round mags, an AR-oriented multitool, cleaning kit, hearing protection, and a whole lot of extra space. The only shortcoming of the Mk II Covert case is the shoulder strap. While it s beefy and very functional, a more flexible strap system that would allow more options for carry methods (think 2 shoulder strap system with a load-bearing waist strap) would be great.

I bought this for my 14.5 PredatOBR. It's very well constructed, and it looks great. The internal dividers are easy to relocate to suit your needs. The rifle fits solidly into the case with the retaining straps. There is absolutely no movement once the rifle is secured. Although my rifle is a 14.5" model, a 16" rifle or above would probably need to be placed diagonally. It suits my needs perfectly. I would get another one if I had a spare rifle lying around.
