COMBO/Aimpoint 3X Magnifier (#11324) and LT755-30S QD Mount (SHORT)
About VFZ™ Mounts:
VFZ™ is a new theory in the concept of clamping accessories to MIL-STD-1913
rails. Instead of using a horizontal cross-bolt, the VFZ™ uses a vertical bolt
that draws up a clamping foot against the lower angle of the rail, seating the
mount similarly to a fully-closed LaRue lever. Once installed on the firearm,
index marks allow the user to remove the mount, then reattach to the same
tension, providing unprecedented return to zero for a non-QD-levered mount. The
unique vertical alignment of the clamp allows components that are structurally
stronger than traditional cross-bolt designs.
Why should I select VFZ™ Mounts instead of a QD Lever Mount?:
If you intend to leave an optic or accessory on a rail for the life of the
rifle, the VFZ™ option is for you. The VFZ™ is intended as a longer-term,
semi-permanent mounting alternative to our well-known Speed Levers. While both
mounts will allow the user to remove the mount from the weapon, reinstall it in
the same position, and return to zero, the VFZ™ mount is intended for users that
will not need to constantly remove and install their mounts (especially in the
field).
I bought this multiplier with an Aimpoint M4s for my LMT 308. I got the Larue mount with it, and it seems to attach very well to the rifle, however, there is a little slop in the hinge when closed and open, so I am a little worried since this is a 308. Not sure how well it will hold up, but the slop may be a necessary evil when purchasing a flip to the side mount. Time will tell. P.s., read the instructions, you will need to remove the rubber from the front of the scope to mount it. Maybe this is obvious to most people, but it threw me for a couple of seconds.
Usual great Aimpoiont. 1st LaRue purchase - mount is "better than best" and LaRue's products will be my first choice despite the cost (which is very appropriate for great quality). Pleasantly surprised by nice "freebies" in shipment-hat, opener, video. Communication appropriate for any order issues and very timely emails and delivery. I'll preferentially shop here again for their products and anything else on their site.
Picked up this combo to go with my Aimpoint M4s with LaRue's QD mount. I have to say that this mount/magnifier package is of the best quality fit and finish I have ever seen. And the contact with customer service was excellent and shipping was very prompt. Can't say enough good about this company and their products.
