Aimpoint Comp M4s

The new CompM4s retains all the great features as the CompM4, but with the battery rotated to the lower right. This allows easier access the brightness control, and gives the optic a slimmer profile. Just like the CompM4, the enhanced energy-usage provides up to 8 years of continuous use from a single AA battery. The crisp 2 MOA dot brightness has 16 positions, 9 daylight and 7 optimized for use with all night vision, especially Gen-3 night-vision technology in current government use. Aimpoint's band-pass coating on the front lens reflects select frequencies of red light at near 100% efficiency in order to give the highest possible dot brightness. The front lens opening is threaded for addition of a KillFlash® anti-reflective device. A removable one-piece bikini cover keeps dust and scratches off the glass.

The combo comes complete with Aimpoint Comp M4, replacement mounting screws with wrench, QD adjustment wrench, vial of blue Locktite and Instructions.

LT659 (Lower 1/3 Cowitness, 1.725")
LT659-NV (Night Vision, 1.535")

Comes complete with a LT659 mount (Tall, 1.725) for standard AR15 / M16 / M4 uppers) OR LT659-NV (Med. 1.535) for absolute-cowitness and compatibility with USGI night vision mounts. The mount cantilevers the CompM4 forward to optimize the rail space on M1913 picatinny flattop receivers. The "Tall" mount aligns the CompM4 perfectly in front of the LT Pivot-Mounted Aimpoint 3XMagnifier.

THIS SPECIAL PRICE COMBO DOES NOT INCLUDE THE AIMPOINT KILLFLASH OR FACTORY AIMPOINT MOUNT.

Note: Unlike iron sights, on MRD such as Aimpoint, you must focus on the target, NOT the dot!
Test outdoors with both eyes open ( the dot should appear fuzzy ).

    OPTIC DIMENSIONS
  • Length: 120 mm (4.7")
  • Weight: 265 g (9.3 oz) sight only - 335 g (11.8 oz) with integrated mount
  • My objective lens is a little bit inclined!

This is not a broken sight! The front lens is a little bit inclined due to the fact the diode is not located in the center of the sight but it might be located either in the roof part or the lower part of the sight depending on the model. The lens and the diode are in line with one and other.

The dot in my Aimpoint sight doesn't look round. Is it defective?

If your dot does not appear to be perfectly round, the distortion is probably caused by the way that your eye perceives the dot, rather than by some mechanical defect. Due to differences in the lenses in different individuals' eyes, round objects that subtend areas near 3 minutes of angle may appear distorted in a variety of ways depending on the individual and other environmental influences. Inexpensive red dot sights sometimes have manufacturing defects that can cause the dot to be an odd shape.

  • A simple test that can be easily performed will allow you to determine the cause of the apparent distortion:
  • Turn the sight on and look through as you normally would. (This test is easiest when the sight is not mounted on a firearm, but can be performed with the sight mounted as well. Just make sure that the firearm is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction.)
  • While continuing to look through the sight, roll the sight on its optical axis.
  • If the dot's irregularities seem to revolve around the center of the dot like the spokes of a wheel, there is a mechanical defect causing the distortion.
  • If the dot does not roll with the sight, the distortion is caused in the way your eye perceives the dot. This is not to say that you don't have good vision. You can see clearly and still see a distortion in objects this small.

This effect is less pronounced in sights with larger dots. More people will see the dot in a sight with a 10 minute-of-angle dot as being perfectly round than will be able to see a 3 MOA dot as round.

Can't say enough good about this company and it's products. The contact with customer service is top notch. The QD mount that my new Aimpoint M4s came with was of a quality I have never seen. I also purchased the Aimpoint 3X magnifier and Qd flip to side mount combo. Both went on my AR with no problems. Have shot about 600 rounds with this set up, and traveled some pretty rough roads with my gun case bouncing around in the back of my truck. Absolutely holds zero! Definitely a customer for life.

This optic is amazing! It was worth every penny. I grabbed the LT QD mount for absolute co witness, and it works perfectly. I've removed the optic, and reattached several times, and still zeroed just as I left it. I tried many other cheaper optics, and was only frustrated with drifting zero's and poor battery life. The CompM4s is rock solid, and the battery life is ridiculous. If you are on the fence, you are half way there, just hop on over, and buy it, you will not regret it. Larue Tacical's excellent customer service, has made me a customer for life.

This was one hell of a smart purchase!! First, the optic itself is awesome. It's clear and very precise. I am waiting to buy the magnifier, but I am waiting for my LT rifles to come in. I am sure if you are hear, you probably already know all about the sight, so there is not much more I can add. The real treat is the QD mount. It's is build SOLID. Once this thing is on and secured, you feel like you could carry the rifle by the sight!! The destructive six-year old in me wants to see what it would take to separate the mount from the rails, but I don't have a spare tractor lying around. I imagine it would be something like those old SuperGlue commercials with that guy holding on to a hard hat glued to a girder. Yeah, it's that secure once it is locked down on your rifle. The usual goodies also include the LT cap!! Now it's my favorite cap. They also nailed the color choice.

sweet little optic, and the mount is solid as. Gotta say these folks aint BSing about the customer service, or the swag. The attention to detail from LaRue is superb, just little things that would make an otherwise adequate but mundane customer experience, into a downright enjoyable experience. Can't say enough good things about the experience (and the swag rocks too!). The mount? Very slick, course I made the mistake of removing the bolt like they explicitly tell you NOT to do, but I got it back together. And the Comp M4s? Really easy on these tired old eyes. Perfect setup for my 6920, can't wait 'til I can afford an OBR - you folks will be getting a nice chunk of my paychecks for a good while!

I have a CompM4 (purchased elsewhere) with this mount on my AR, and both the optic and mount are pure perfection. I do have one caution for purchasers of the M4s version of the CompM4 line. I have a PVS-14 night vision device with the LaRue LT755 QD Mount. That mount, when combined with the M4s optic will result in needing to mount the M4s farther forward in order for the LaRue LT755 QD Mount to clear the lower battery tube on the M4s. I had to return my M4s for a M4 version to get best mounting position with the PVS-14. This is not a criticism of the LaRue PVS-14 mount, just a "heads up" to buyers.

The Comp M4s is an amazing piece of technology. This is the first optic I had ever tried - previously, I was iron sights only. The target acquisition speed with this sight is fast - very fast. I caught myself hesitating, wondering if there was anything else I needed to do before squeezing off a round. Unlike iron sights that require the shooter to center the FSP in the rear aperture, the Comp M4s just requires that the shooter place the red dot on the target. Simply amazing! Of course, the LaRue mount is rock solid and looks great on my AR. It is very likely that I will purchase another Comp M4s for another one of my rifles. Aimpoint technology and quality + LaRue quality and pricing = BIG WIN

The fact that the original mount is not included does not bother me. The Larue mount has a smaller footprint without sacrificing stability. Pricing was comparable and perhaps slightly better than Larue's competitors, without the excellent QD mount.

Was very happy with my M4s and it does my BCM BFH 16" middy proud. I went with the Absolute co witness mount since I have a set of Troy Tritium BUIS on it and will keep them folded down for the most part, now that there zeroed in. Makes a great reference point for both sets of sights to check to make sure there both on and not off from a drop and keeping a consistent cheek wield. Their LT659-NV Absolute mount was close but more between a 1/3 lower and absolute with flip up front and back..somewhere in the middle of the two but fine. Maybe they were making reference to only the NV options you put behind the M4s or a magnifier, neither of which I plan on using. This is mainly a HD or SHTF weapon and range weapon I love to shoot. Might teach my grandson to shoot it and take his first deer with it using BH 62 grain TSX ammo. I think it should do a number on a fat Doe with a well placed shot. I had to build the lower for my BCM since they had trouble keeping those in stock at the time when I got the upper receiver group but I really needed to refresh this platform since it was mid 70's since shooting my M16. Besides it was fun building my own with a lot more toys available these day's not to mention ammo choices, but really all I added was a weapon light. Think this sighting system would be hard to beat. Good shooting and be safe. Dan

I received my MaTech Mil-Spec Back-up Iron Sight (B.U.I.S) about two weeks ago, and had to wait about 2.5 weeks to get my Aimpoint COMP M4s 2 MOA from Larue Tactical. Even though it was on backorder, I did not mind waiting because Larue is first class. The Killflash filter, the flip-up covers, and the original Aimpoint mount does not come with the Larue offering, but I got the quick disconnect mount from them and they are the Mfgr. Both the MaTech and the Larue are Army 9th-grade level to install. Of course, that is why the army has armorers. Some soldiers can read and all armorers can. I will order the Killflash and flip-up covers soon, and probably the Aimpoint 3X Magnifier with the appropriate LaRue Tactical QD Pivot Mount. I researched a hole through this project before buying. Speaking after only a few minutes experience with the M4s, and a lifetime of experience with firearms, the M4s is awesome, and I do not think I could have purchased any reflex sight I would like better. It is first class, and I can see why our military uses it. Although it was off-the-paper out-of-the-box, I had it zeroed to a 1/2” group @ 25 meters (83 feet) in nine rounds. I will order the Aimpoint T1 2 MOA with Larue mount (both from Larue) for my S&W Model 41 soon.
